So my question is how to make an external monitor the main one. I've found several posts on this topic but my problem is that the screen on my Macbook is broken and you cant see anything at all.

Does anyone know if there is a key command for this or anyway to do it on the second screen? Someone said I had to buy a keyboard and mouse, hope thats not true.

Thanks

F7 on mine turns on mirrored screens, from there you can make the changes you need.

Cheers,

close the computer, wait for sleep light to start breathing. Connect external monitor while asleep. Open the computer, for 1-2 seconds, then close again until external monitor comes on. Repeat until you get the timing right. Then you can open the computer and use keyboard/trackpad just as you normally would but with the external monitor.
Sorry to hear your screen doesn't work :(
