making macbook pro appear off..

i have a macbook pro which i download torrents/limewire stuff off...
i like to leave it on downloading online.. how do i make the computer look off? reduce the brightness? if i close the screen is there a way to keep computer on with screen closed? i dont want anybody to know my laptop is on..

you need to follow the above instructions to download overnight or else your internet will turn off over night. to make your computer look off, turn screen brightness t othe lowest level, or do what the poster above tole you
