What is the best way to play the same music through two different rooms at the same time? We have 6 macs, 3 per room. We do not have airport cards in the macs, but have them all networked. We have one set of speakers in one room and will buy a 2nd set. Can anyone recommend a software/hardware solution?

Get an airport extreme hooked into a network either with all 3 (if they are already networked) or hooked into the Mac you want to access the music off. Then get an airport express for each room you want music in (bar those with the iMacs).

Some sound systems can do multi-room as well. If you've got a B&O setup, then the capability is built in. Some other manufacturers have (rather limited) link options as well, such as Linn.

Thanks for your reply.

I was thinking about a wired solution. I'm thinking, what is the best way to get, say, itunes playing on one machine and then others users could change tracks and have the same audio streaming across ethernet cables to the other room to speaker through the other mac.
