Whenever I need to insert a clip that is larger than my "hole" in the timeline I need to make room for it by dragging the rest of the clips further along the timeline. Isn't there a easier way to do this=

You als can drag your clip into the timeline (watch the arrow, when it goes sideways, release the mouse button). But be careful when you have clips spread over several tracks, they might go out of synch.
