Hello all.

When doing a workout (walk) I get voice notifications when I reach a milestone etc.

It’s a robotic male voice.

Is there any way I can change this?

Siri’s voice is the female “human” voice that I like.

Thanks in advance, and wishing you all well.

You sure about this ?
My workout voice feedback is my default siri voice (Irish lady).

go to watch app (on phone) workout/ voice feedback.

I think it’s because Siri’s voice is waiting to download.

I’m at my nan’s, so don’t have Wi-Fi, and I’m assuming her voice will not download on cellular.

Siri
Have you tried “hey, siri” on both phone and watch to see who answers ?
Siri uses the female Siri voice, but the voice notification when exercising uses the male robotic voice.

In settings/Siri on the watch it is showing as downloading. I think it will download when connected to Wi-Fi.

I had the same issue after several days since updating to 9.1 and maybe before, so I doubt if it was waiting to download as Siri otherwise on the watch was fine. What I did last night was:

(1) on the apple watch- Settings- Workouts, set Voice Feedback OFF.
(2) on the iPhone Watch app I turned Voice Feedback to On.

This morning to test it before actually exercising, I set the goal to 5 minutes and exercise to "Other". My voice of choice was back on "Exercise Ring is Close." Success.

Coincidence, maybe. Can it all be done on the same device, maybe.

My wife's Apple Watch 6 never had an issue and we both updated to 9.1 Saturday night. I have a 5.

Maybe Apple could make that voice selectable and difference from Siri. Obviously they do not need to be the same.
