Malware alert?

My colleague was on her MacBook Air today using Duck Duck Go web browser when a pop up appeared and a feminine voice telling her that security had been breached and not to shut down her Mac. She shut it down anyway. Pretty sure she’s safe because she didn’t click on anything in the web browser but I’m curious if anyone else has encountered this?

She is fine. She came across a bad website or website not filtering their ad service. I have read complains on here over the years about the same kind of thing. The goal is to try and get someone to install malware to give bad actors access. or to install a program that really isn't needed by giving the user false alerts.
