So I ordered my computer and some other goodies yesterday, and as usual, the goodies shipped before the computer.

Here's FedEx's tracking info so far:

Jun 17, 2008 12:58 AM Arrived at FedEx location MEMPHIS, TN
Jun 16, 2008 10:42 PM Picked up MEMPHIS, TN
7:30 PM Package data transmitted to FedEx

What the hell has it been doing for the last 18 hours? Shouldn't it have done something?

It says estimated delivery is Jun 18, and in usual web orders this has been accurate but I can't help but wonder.

I was hoping to have the iPod to take the edge off of the wait a bit.

Apple could be busy facilitating the massive iPhone orders. Who knows though... Gas is also expensive and shipping companies might be ensuring that every truck/plane/train that goes out is completely full.

I've noticed similar "news blackouts", but then a flurry of activity after midnight that culminates in the usual "On truck for delivery" goodness the next morning. After easily a dozen shipments from Apple, I've never been disappointed with a late delivery. Actually, everything has always come early.

<grain of salt>I usually settle for free shipping, where the ETAs are usually worse-case estimates</grain of salt>

Ditto for me. Besides, it's not THAT far from Memphis to Southeast Louisiana -- they could have driven it there today. If you check now or tomorrow morning, I would expect to see it at your local FedEx location, if not already out for delivery.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's not like it's been sitting there for over a week.

yea I wouldn't worry... it sometimes is slow to update- but rest assured, it should arrive by the 18th.
