My wife takes videos of dance lesson recaps to review later, and this worked great on the
TV where we could just copy the video from the camera and rename it; it was automatically seen on the
TV via Home Sharing in all its 720p glory.
The problem arose when I got my wife an iPad which has a 4:3 aspect ratio and would not accept the nice 720p videos directly. I used iTunes to create iPad versions of the files, but now there are 2 copies of each file, and only half if those will sync to the iPad. I solved this by unchecking the 720p versions but could find no way to exclude them from a smart playlist; is there something to key on that will determine if the video is iPad compatible or not?
Another issue is that now since there are 2 copies of each video that both sync to the
TV the list on the
TV is getting long and confusing. The unchecked (720p) videos are grayed out (but selectable) while the iPad versions show nicely in the list of videos but don't look as good on-screen.
Does anybody else do something similar and how do you cope with the issues?
