manfrotto 501 video head?

hi all,

i wanted to buy the manfrotto 501 head, however when getting ready to buy the head from jessops, i searched elsewhere for a cheaper model then it struck me that the picture displayed shows a old style looking head, while other the other 501 model looks modern so im confused?

thing is jessops also have a tripod+head with the 501 as the head and its different to the one in the pic aswell its the modern one from amazon?

im confused also the price is significantly different.

Looks like the one from Jessops is the older model. Both are good as I have both the older and new. Not much has changed other then the friction knob that you see. if it is ubstantially cheaper, I would go with the cheaper model. IMO.
