Manual email threading?

I'd like to take a break from reading iPhone 4 bashing threads.

Is it possible to manual thread emails? In my inbox.. I have some emails from same person, some are grouped in a thread and others are not.

also, maybe I get an email from the same person, but from their alternate email address and the software doesn't know to group the email into the same thread.

is it possible to manually thread together my emails? i haven't been able to find a way and I can't seem to get an answer from anyone.
