Manual Fetch doesn't do anything for Cal and Contacts

I know PUSH is the better option, but I don't want to use it for battery reasons at times.

I don't like the 15 minute or hour options...

So, I'd like to manually update my Contacts, Calendar, and mail.
Mail seems to work ok, but

I can't figure out how to get Calendar or Contacts to update?!? If I enter a new entry on iCal or Address book on my iMac, it won't get to my iPhone unless I use PUSH or a timed interval like every 15 minutes.

Is there a way to get it to Manually Fetch on those two apps??
