Hi all,

Does anyone know how to manually place a music file into the iPod app without having to sync through iTunes? With iFile, is there a directory where all the music gets placed when synced which a music file can manually be transferred to and it will then appear in the iPod app and consequently get synced back to iTunes next time the phone is synced?

Thanks, Dan.

Currently you can't do this manually, the music on iTunes and iPod.app are no just simple files on a directory, there is a lot information linked to it the lives on a few databased (this is why you need to use iTunes), dTunes used to do this, but they remove the feature and haven't update it for iOS4 yet.

YOu can still add music to any folder and play it using iFile madia player or any other media player you may have on your iPhone.

Even when it is not possible to do it "manually" in theory is shouldn't be hard to write an application to do that, I haven't seen anything lately iOS4 compatible.
