Manually manage iPhone - Questions

Hi, I bought an iPhone 11 a week ago and connected it to a Windows 10 PC using iTunes. Then I selected the checkbox to manage it manually and then I started dragging and dropping stuff: music, movies, books, ringtones etc. Today I wanted to add a few more things to it but this time using Finder + Music in Catalina. The checkbox to manually manage the iPhone is unchecked in Catalina and it won't allow me to do anything unless I erase everything and sync it to this macbook. My question is: Isn't supposed this "manage manually..." option allow me to drag and drop stuff on different computers or is it just a different way an iPhone "syncs" and I still can't add stuff on different computers? If so, what a bummer.

I'm pretty sure you still can't add stuff from different computers. I've been trying to figure this out as well, and as far as I can tell you can only use one computer, even with the manual option checked. Super bummer.
