A lot of people complain about 16e pricing while their bodies are moving to the Apple Store to buy one or more 16e once it is available.

16e should be one of the top 3 best selling phones. Very simple, a XR with a name sounds better, a big Apple logo on the back.

It'll probably sell just like previous SE products, maybe just slightly better. If it becomes a top 3 seller, it'll be a failure because Apple isn't aiming for cannibalization of the iPhone 15/16. The goal of 16e is to get XR/11 SE2 users to upgrade along with converting Android. That pool isn't very big to begin with.

SE looking was too outdated with tiny monitor. 16e has better sales numbers for sure.

The 16e is just too big and heavy If Steve were still alive, and Jony back at Apple, we would have a fabulous small one-handed-operation SE4 ... it would look a million dollars and sell like hotcakes.

Jobs was still alive when Ive started designing the iPhone 6/Plus. The "one handed" marketing message only existed because Apple didn't have phablets ready in 2012/2013.

It'll sell very well for them. It's already been said a million times, this product is designed for your grandma and grandpa to finally upgrade once the carriers start throwing around cheap deals.

These people don't need anything beyond a solid phone that makes phone calls, sends texts, and lets them scroll facebook. You don't need an iPhone 16 for that. These people don't want to trawl eBay or Craigslist to get a second hand device. They just want to call up their carrier and say yes to any cheap offers and then get on with their lives.

they all forget the stereo mic recording quality.

A lot of people complain about egg prices, gas prices, energy prices, clothes prices, college prices, travel prices, but they still use all these things. If they need or want them, they buy them. That doesn't mean that their "body action" (!) betrays them and that they in fact like the prices.

I think it’s difficult to prove this as times have changed and they were both innovators. They wouldn’t have continued to do the same thing, they would have changed with the times. You’re not giving them enough credit.

They can always choose to buy phones of other brands

I purchased the new 16E. I was trying to get another year out of my 12 Pro Max but it died in a car accident and I no longer had Apple care covering that device. It was tough decision to go with the 16E for about six months till the 17 comes out or just purchase the 16 Pro Max now. For me I know the 16E will be a big upgrade over my old 12 Pro Max and that should hold me over till they release the new iPhone's this fall.

I am actually one in the minority I guess in the fact that I love big iPhones and I am a little worried that going down to 6.1 inches will be a hard adjustment. Still I like the fact that at least it's not as small as the SE. I just don't think I would have been happy getting a renewed SE (3rd GEN) off Amazon. Although it would have been much cheaper. Oh well hopefully Apple will give me a decent trade in on the 16E come September.
