Hi all,

I have two NAS on my network and I'd like those drives to be mapped automatically when I login into macOS.

I added the drives to Login items and it works - but now I have two windows of Finder on screen as soon as I turn on my mac.

Is there a way to have the NAS connected automatically without showing Finder windows on screen?

Thanks!

Hi, sorry did not catch up your post earlier, I went through several option, either you create a script with automator or you can have a look to automounter, it detect your share mapped and auto mount them on startup, you can also have multiple server and using different protocols. work great with my Synology and 2 profiles (one while at home, another one remote)

thanks - and please don't worry for the delay!

I'll take a look at automounter, thanks! Meanwhile, I might have found the simple solution - at least it works for me.

I've added the drives to Favourites. When I click on those folders, the drive is being mounted automatically. That's enough for me as I don't have anything actively looking on those drives. But I'll take a look at automounter, it seems a good idea!

Cheers!

You may find that after some time, the drives disappear from your favorites. I don't know if that's a bug or a feature, but I find it disappointing.

ahah, really? I don't have the drive on Favourites, I have a folder in the drive. Are those also doomed to disappear? :D

ahah it's true! The links have disappeared! This is so bad!

I found this thread looking for the same answer. It would be nice to have network drive (and folder) mapped without logging into the Mac with open Finder windows to close every time. Disappointed there isn't a simple fix.
