I'm trying to do something very basic:

Create a mapview, and then after someone presses a UIBarButtonItem on a UIToolBar, it gets your current location (drop the blue beeping dot/ gps thing)

Appreciate it if someone could tell me how exactly to code this out.

Thanks

Well I know I have to
Put an action on the buttonBarItem that sets mapView.showsUserLocation = TRUE;

But That's all it takes to show the "blue dot." However, the map won't keep the blue dot on-screen.

I'm a n00b, appreciate the help

Please elaborate. I'm not sure what you mean by this.

I suspect he means that when the userLocation changes he doesn't set the centerCoordinate (animated or otherwise).

If that's not a gigantic, super-huge hint to the OP I have no idea what is.
