Maps and directions has changed

Directions have changed?

Previously directions would not be spoken if you initiated directions from the Apple Watch and did not unlock the iPhone. Now it talks all the time.

Also, can anyone get the setting to work that pauses podcasts, audiobooks and other talking while directions are spoken?
