When I launch Maps on my MacBook Pro it locks up (beach ball) almost right away. Have to force quit it. I used it earlier today to send some directions to my phone, and now when I launch it on the computer it tries to go back to those directions, and locks up. The app works ok in another user's account on the same computer.

I tried deleting the plist (com.apple.maps.plist), repairing permissions, logging out/in, restarting the computer -- still locks up when I launch the app. Anyone have a suggestion for how I can reset/restore it?

Fixed it

In case this is ever helpful to anyone, I went into /Users/xxxxxxxx/Library/Containers/com.apple.Maps/Data and deleted everything, and when I relaunched Maps it started up ok.

Thank you for posting this.

I had purchased a new Mac Mini shortly after being announced in September, and as Maps was installed on the dock by default I had tried it out just to explore applications. I was somewhat disappointed when it failed to run straight from Apple.

I tried your tip and the Maps app works fine now.
