Maps blocking 3rd party navigation apps?

Prior to iOS 10, I used Apple Maps to find directions and then open the directions & start navigation with Waze from within the Apple Maps apps. But it looks like this feature is not longer available. Is this true or am I not finding the option to switch to Waze from within the Apple Maps app?
