Maps crashes when switching map types (map,satellite,hybrid)

When using broad search terms in Maps application like: Mexican, Italian (at the time i was searching for places to eat) Maps crashes when changing map type.

Can anyone reproduce this?

1. Open Maps
2. Use broad search term like Pizza so many results show up
3. Use the option flap to switch map type (map,satellite,hybrid)

Now does Maps crash and return you to home screen?

nope, worked fine for me

Not here, I was able to search locally for Pizza, and switched between 'Map', 'Satellite' & 'Hybrid' view quite seamlessly.

Possibly a one off?

Try a reboot.

So after opening a bug report with apple yesterday and sending 15 Maps application crash logs ...

It seems to work for me today. Must have been something on Google Maps side. Oh well, at least it working.
