Maps doesn't fade out music whilst navigating

I don't recall it being like this before but I've reset and it still doesn't lower the level of the music whilst announcing navigation instructions.
Is this a know issue/feature?

I'll have to try it next time I'm driving, but I'm pretty sure the music volume goes down when maps gives directions.

You're talking about Apple Maps, right?
