Maps for GPS - Auto update "My Location"?

Just wondering if this would be possible...now that Google Maps has the My Location feature, why not have an option to refresh this every 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes, etc. And then have it move to the next corresponding direction in your route.

Probably would kill battery life but if you're in the car you can get an adapter.

It's still not GPS but closer yet. Is this possible?
 
Its probably possible, but in all honesty it would be very unreliable and its probably easier for apple to either a) release their own GPS reciever or b) allow us to use one of the million bluetooth GPS recievers currently on the market.
 
That's how it works on my BlackBerry. The blue dot would move as I move. I'm still on 1.1.2, so I can't verify this, can anybody with 1.1.3 comment?
