So I was playing around with Maps on the iPad in iOS 7 and I noticed that when you are zoomed out it shows the the where the sun is currently shining. I thought that was really cool.

It reminds me of the Google Maps Beta (I'm not accusing anybody of stealing here, they were obviously in development at the same time). I would love to see Apple add live clouds, an accurate star field and the sun.

cool feature.

too bad they still have nonexistent streets with made up names in my town rendering maps completely useless.

you can put lipstick on a pig...

Which is precisely WHY I'd turn it off.

The lights go on and off on my city depending on how far I zoom? Annoying.

That screen-shot looks cool, but I'd turn this feature off if I could.
You need to zoom pretty darn far before you see the lights toggle. At any usefully detailed zoom level, you won't see this. I think it would be a bad idea to have pages of toggles for every possible whim. If the defaults don't work for you, grab a third party globe.

I just hate all this time-based crap.

Like, right now in Mint.com (financial planning) I have some budget changes I want to make for July. Well, there's no way for me to do that now without it being added to June too. So I have to wait until 12:01 AM on July 1st to do them. Even worse is the reverse. If I want to make a change to May...well tough luck. It's locked. I dislike a system that restricts me based on WHEN it is. My old Excel documents don't lock when they're a month old!

This is more of the same. What if I'm doing something right now and want to insert a screen-shot of day-lit Asia from Apple maps into it right now? Well, tough luck. Try again tonight!

Whenever a computer tells me I have to wait (for no reason) to get what I want, it makes me cranky. This isn't Farmville.

Really? Could you possibly be serious?

What if you want to insert a screenshot of Asia with your blue location dot somewhere in China when you and your iPad are in London? I bet that possibility chaps your ass.

Do you agree or disagree with my "apps shouldn't be like Farmville" complaint?

Try responding to what I said instead of making up imaginary complaints I didn't say.

This is very cool! I saw it on a long plane ride recently and thought it was cool to see where the daylight cutoffs were. Happy to see it incorporated here.
