So I was playing around with Maps on the iPad in iOS 7 and I noticed that when you are zoomed out it shows the the where the sun is currently shining. I thought that was really cool.
Screenshot below.
That is pretty cool!
Honestly, if they do decide to continue this feature, I think they should add the option to enable/disable the feature.
Why? As soon as you zoom in to country-wide level it disappears.
You need to zoom pretty darn far before you see the lights toggle. At any usefully detailed zoom level, you won't see this. I think it would be a bad idea to have pages of toggles for every possible whim. If the defaults don't work for you, grab a third party globe.Which is precisely WHY I'd turn it off.
The lights go on and off on my city depending on how far I zoom? Annoying.
That screen-shot looks cool, but I'd turn this feature off if I could.

This is more of the same. What if I'm doing something right now and want to insert a screen-shot of day-lit Asia from Apple maps into it right now? Well, tough luck. Try again tonight!
Really? Could you possibly be serious?
What if you want to insert a screenshot of Asia with your blue location dot somewhere in China when you and your iPad are in London? I bet that possibility chaps your ass.
Do you agree or disagree with my "apps shouldn't be like Farmville" complaint?
Try responding to what I said instead of making up imaginary complaints I didn't say.
