Hello, this is something that has been bothering me for a while. I have mail.app accessing my companies Exchange 2003 server through pop3 and whenever it downloads messages it marks all them as read on the server. I also access this account from my work machine and iPhone, both of which use the Exchange protocol. Since I don't always remember to close mail before I leave that machine it sometimes causes me to miss alerts on messages that mail.app catches first.
My question is, is there anyway to get mail.app to leave messages marked as unread on the server? I've checked preferences and rules and couldn't find anything. Is there a com.apple.defaults setting that could manage this or do I just have to live with it?
I did create a quick applescript that will close the app at a certain time everyday using launchd, however this is kinda hackie and I would prefer a more elegant solution.
Thanks in advance.
