I got a new ipod nano with the macbook I just purchased. I have an old mini from 2004 that still works. Better to hang on to the new one in case the old one dies or try and sell it for cash (is there much of a craigslist market for new ipods?)

Thoughts?

Keep it. I doubt anybody will want to buy a Nano as old as that. I sold my mini (a year and a half old at the time) when the 5.5G iPod came out, and it's battery has since deteriorated to around 15 minutes, which makes me feel like I've ripped off my friend...

Wow, that's sick! My 3+ year old iPod 3G still gets about four hours... it dropped off quickly at first but then held very steadily at that level.

The new iPods have a pretty good market... right now, there's a glut of people just like you selling them, and it drops the price somewhat, but there's still a solid market. You can probably readily get about 85-90% of Apple's refurb price, and perhaps slightly more if its still sealed.
