marking Junk Mail as read

I can't figure out how the get mail that's in my junk folder to show up as read. It's a bit annoying that junk mail needs to be looked at to mark it read.

I tried to make a rule for this, with no luck

For what it's work, these are messages in brown in the junk folder.

any help, greatly appreciated.
