It really looks as a hole for the camera, not for a sensor. You can clearly see the three different holes on the white version here, #1 is labeling the supposed 3G front-sided camera, and #2 is the new proximity sensor.

That's where one of the sensors is.

While the Marware Sport-Grip case/sleeve has three holes on the front, it's still wishful thinking to label one as a camera. Besides the Speaker the two other holes could be the ambient light sensor and the proximity sensor. Another argument against the front facing camera is that there's still a camera on the back. How many phones have two cameras?

Why in the world would apple be dumb enough to hold something like this out of there presentation of the iphone 3g. People let it go, its a hole for the proximity sensor that turns off the screen when you hold the phone up to your face.

does anyone really think that steve jobs would hold back something as huge as front facing camera i.e ichat av from the keynote? Wake up and smell the coffee folks, its just another sensor.

Any way, there are a ton of phones out there capable of video calls and how many times have you seen someone walking down the street video calling their mates?

Really? You think that when trying to get people as excited as possible about a new device so they will buy it, Steve Jobs would choose to never tell anybody about a new exciting feature?

i think its just a sensor because thats a pretty big announcement and to go along with what another person said why wouldn't jobs announce it?
