ok so im not sure this belongs in the IPT forums but the question arises because of my IPT so here it is.

I have a large quantity of video files...and I was hoping to find a way to have something automate the creation of "info" for them.

For example. I have files named
SummerVacation.s01e01.mpg all the way through s01e12
and then
SummerVacation - s04 - episode 01.mpg through episode 12
I am looking for a tool, or some way to process all 12 of the files in the first season and parse out the info. So like set them all to TV shows, set the TV show to SummerVacation, and populate the season and episode fields in the file info that these files are all sorted in an intelligent manner on my ipt.

Does anyone know of a script or of software that can do this? Preferably something dynamic so that I can change it batch by batch so that in one batch, - is the delimiter and in the next . is etc etc....

if no such app exists is there a way to set these file "attributes" (specify it is a TV show and set the season and episode number etc) from the command line? I think I could whip together a bash script to parse out the info I am looking for if I knew how ot set the attributes...

thanks!
