Mass Effect not Launching

I installed mass effect and updated it to the latest version yet when I click play it says there was an error and it closes the program...I'm usin vista...how do i fix this
 
Using Parallels? VMWare Fusion? Boot Camp? If its anything but Boot Camp, you can't game with it.
