hey, is there a way to rename a bunch of hidden files? I basically want to add an extension to them, but i have about 500 files that need to be renamed. All the renaming applications that I have tried cant handle hidden files. any suggestions?

thanks

1. In Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder
2. Then use Name Mangler to batch rename the files.
3. In Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
killall Finder

that was one of the first things that I tried, i used tinker tool to show hidden files, found some of the files that i wanted to change just to test, and name mangler doesnt recognize them... :( i also just tried it your way thinking maybe that would work, but nope :( didnt work, thanks for the suggestion tho...

all the files that I want to rename start with a .BC.
dont know if the . has anything to do with name mangler not recognizing, but i know the . makes it hidden..

Did you "Get Info" on them to make sure they're not locked, and that you have read & write permissions for them?
