iPhone Massive issues.. Will i be able to restore to a jailbreakable version?

Seems like my only option is recovery mode, which will force a 9.2 upgrade. Presently on 8.4, but phone is essentially unusable, so i have no choice.

I'm downloading the last four or so IPSW's just in case - but will i be able to downgrade to a jailbreakable IOS?

You can't restore to a version Apple is not signing.

You can however boot into Safe Mode (No Mobile Substrate Mode) and use your phone if you have to. Volume up when booting until you get to the lockscreen.

I ask this question because I have had multiple issues along the same line as you since this morning. Phone was working fine. I've been installing/uninstalling crap all morning.

TypeStatus 2 has a dependency called Cephai (or something like that). Cephai received an update yesterday. And this is where I guess (at least for me) all hell broke loose.

So I uninstalled Cephai, which uninstalls TypeStatus 2. So far my issues have disappeared.

So, if you have Type Status 2 installed, try booting into Safe Mode, uninstalling that and then seeing if things work after a respring.

I'm in safe mode now (never thought of that). No idea what to delete. I haven't touched cydia literally in months.

This is the second time my phone has left me stranded. Starting to think i should have stayed on android.

Usually you can start with the last installed tweak. Uninstall that and see how it goes.

Alternatively, you can install iCleaner Pro and use it to disable all your tweaks (DO NOT DISABLE MOBILE SUBTRATE SAFE MODE). Then choose a range of tweaks and toggle them back on. Keep doing that until you narrow down the tweak that is causing the problem. Once you find the problem, uninstall the tweak.

It's not your phone. It's a tweak or something with the jailbreak.

What kind of issues are you experiencing?

I also updated Cephei to 1.6 and haven't noticed any problems

I have the deb file for 1.5, so let me know if you want that (to use Type Status 2)

Crashing to the springboard of random apps, booting to safe mode, very long resprings.

I will take you up on your offer. I think I'm also having an issue with Widget Weather. Reinstalled that and Cydia won't open and long resprings returned.

Weather Widget hammers Location Services though. Uninstalled that and Cydia opens again.

So i'm up and running. Not sure what caused the error. Installed some cydia tweaks i didn't use anymore, respring and I'm running smoothly. ODD.. but thanks eyoungren, really appreciate it.

Also installing crash reporter to use for intel as well.

iTouchSecure is the culprit. Bunch of threads on reddit about this problem and it is itouchsecure for all those other folks, and thats the one i deleted.. Woot, glad its resolved without a recovery.

Think I JUST found mine, other than TypeStatus!

I finally checked Crash Reported and the crash log mentioned 'FileProvider'. Now, I know from research on something else that this is Google related, specifically Google photo related. I had previously deleted one of those two apps.

Today there was an update in the App Store for Google Photos specifically. I just now deleted it. Bam, my amount of ram went back down (it's been running close to the edge). Going to do more testing, but I bet it was that!

No more Google photo crap on my iPhone.

Bingo! Google Photos! And now that I'm on this track, all this started happening AFTER I updated the damn thing.

EVERYTHING back in place for me including TypeStatus 2 with Cephei (correct spelling).

Now THAT is very interesting. I was using Google Photos when everything started crashing yesterday.. Wow! Deleting as well.
