I'm not really sure if that's an iOS 6.1 or an IPhone 5 issue but I noticed it just today. My battery has droped from 48% the moment i slept to 33% when i woke up.
Does someone else have the same problem?

15% in 8 hours? not really that massive.

although sometimes something just gets a bit weird, try rebooting your phone.

This can be due to many things such as:

  • 4G
  • Wifi
  • Location Services
  • Many opened apps

If you had had some or all of these apps/services open, then you've just answered your question. :)

There are several threads about this.
I had the problem for a while (that the battery is empty after just a few hours of standby). Then did a network settings reset, and it worked for a few weeks (so the physical phone seems alright). Now it is back. Last night 6 hours, no 3G - 100-0%. Crazy.

Apple says nothing about it....keeps charging 699 for the phone though.

I would try a restore of the iPhone 5 (on 6.1) if you prefer earlier and you are able to, just downgrade to 6.0.2, 6.0.1 or 6.0 until iOS 6.1.1 or 7.0 releases. Knowing Apple 6.1.1 or 6.2 will be around soon to patch exploits that were uncovered recently in the iOS Community.
