So, I've got "Secrets" installed. It's a fun little add on that adds a lot of useful things, and browsing through it tonight I decided to see what "Use Metal Appearance in All apps" under "system" did. Apparently, it changes all your windows from the default gradient look to a flat metal look. Nifty, but I liked the regular skin better, so I unchecked the box and hit revert, and restarted.
Here's where the fun starts.
Though that should've reverted everything back to normal, it instead made finder permanently look inactive (Traffic lights and buttons will appear active, though gradient color is white.)
I tried everything I could possibly think of to fix this, from entering something into terminal I found online that supposedly cures it, to installing Themepark and re-theming Leopard, to uninstalling secrets.. Finally in exasperation, I tried reinstalling Snow Leopard.
Unfortunately, this didn't fix the GUI problem. Actually, it added more problems.
I have a wireless Apple Keyboard and a Magic Mouse. Before reinstalling SL, they both worked beautifully. Now, they're only recognized as a generic mouse and keyboard, and when I hit detect bluetooth mouse/keyboard, nothing is found. Meaning my shiny new Magic Mouse is virtually useless, I can't even scroll. I have to use the side scroll bar.
Anyone want to take a crack at... any of this? I'd REALLY appreciate it!
EDIT: I fixed the mouse and keyboard myself, I realized that my Snow Leopard CD probably pre-dated the mouse/keyboard, so I'd need to update... a quickish system update and they're working again.
The GUI problem still remains, though. Any thoughts on how I could go about restoring Snow Leopards default theme?
Also, to add: With metal windows enabled, windows always appear active, even when inactive. When I try to disable it and go back to normal, windows always display inactive, even when active.
