is a state of mind.
Hi - At work I frequently use both a laptop (PB) and a desktop (MP). I typically mount each computer's drive on the other so that I can share files back and forth as necessary. I occasionally, however, have permissions issues and files can only be opened with read-only access. I think there is a way to identically match two users between machines, perhaps by changing the UID? They already share the same username and password. I'd prefer not to set up a cron job that chmod -R 777's everything. Any tips?

Changing the UIDs to match should definitely help. That's what I'd do - this can be done in the NetInfo utility in your Utilities folder.
