matching 3GS device w/ box, selling

I am selling my 2 iPhone 3GS's with the original box. I deleted everything from both devices and took out the sim. I am trying to make sure that I a putting the right 3GSin the right box. It wants me to put in a sim card though to activate it to get to the main screen. Any way around this?

You need the serial number for each phone? The serial number is on the SIM tray. Or you could connect the device to TinyUmbrella and it'd tell you the serial number.

Weird. 1 matches. The other one doesn't match anything. I originally bought them at an AT&T store.
