My Linear Algebra class is having us use MatLab for some home work. I purchased the edition they had available at the bookstore (R2007a) which will run on Windows/Mac OSX/Linux.

I'm still learning some of the ins-and-outs of Mac OSX, but noticed that MatLab runs using X11.

My question is do you think it will run faster/slower on Mac OSX using X11 or under my Vista Business native partition?

Thanks for the insight.

X11 is just a different way of drawing windows and controls on screen. It does not affect the speed of calculation, but it may sometimes look a little out-of-place

It's the standard for most Unix platforms, so the Linux version uses it as well.
