Yeah, here's the situation.
I've been encoding some dvds to the Matroska (.mkv) container with the video in x264 and the sound in .mp3. They seem to run fine (with both mplayerosx and VLC), but the sound is maybe a half second off from the video, which is rather bothersome.
Is there any way to fix this lag? or is it because the powerbook (1.5 ghz, 10.4.5) can't decode the h264 fast enough to match with the audio?
Yeah, any ideas on alternate players or some trick in VLC or Mplayer to sync up the audio and video would be appreciated
And also, i encode these with Gordian Knot on windows, and they play perfectly in Media Player Classic on XP.
Another Also, I reencoded some .avi's into .mkv with x264 and they play perfectly, I imagine thats because they already had the audio in the file whereas the dvd ripped ones were...well...dvd rips.
