Matrox DualHead2Go with OS X Mavericks

I have just the regular dualhead2go Digital for my Macbook, which, on Mountain Lion, I had set at 2880x1400. When I installed Mavericks, 2880x1400 was offset and stretched out like crazy.

I couldn't get any resolution to properly display across both monitors. (And it didn't help that the Matrox Powerdesk software crashed when I tried to use it to set the resolution.) But I was able to use other software like Display Maestro and SwitchResX to change the resolution, but couldn't find one to work.

I need the extra screen for work, so I had to go back to Mountain Lion for the time being, but I would like to take advantage of the dev. preview.

Anybody have any suggestions?

No problems here using the DP Edition

Hey,

when I read your thread I was inclined not to install the developer preview as I am using a Matrox Dualhead2Go DP Edition on my Macbook Pro with 2x24" Dell Monitors (1920x1200).

However already during installation everything was displayed properly as well as when running the system. None of your problems seemed to have hit me.

Not sure if the resolution or the device makes the difference here.

If there is anything I can test for you let me know.

I just set mine up today. I have 1920 x 1080 on both monitors, but the desktop is not duplicated. I'd like to get it working to display a dock and top menu on both monitors. It anyone knows how to do this that'd be great.

Hopefully they update the PowerDesk software for Mavericks.

I'm still looking for something similar for my setup. I'm using the DualHead2Go with 2 1920x1080 Dell monitors and have grown tired of having full-screen videos centered under the two bezels. Would be nice to be able designate space on each separate display but still use each independently.

Otherwise, the Matrox works just fine with Mavericks for me.

Thanks for posting the hackintosh specs. Is this a hardware setup known to work? especially under mavericks? I want to try something like this but would like to order something that's known to work to minimize issues.

Yes, it should work on Mavericks. I heard a few things like the computer not going to sleep and some other issues, but for the most part I think Mavericks works and there are guides for installing it. I'm actually going with Mountain Lion since it should be better supported.

The specs were from tonymac86 — it's from his October 2013 guide. There are lists for any type of system you want to build.
