Does anyone here have experience with the Matrox MXO2 product line with Max technology? I just received mine from B&H today and while running some test i'm not getting "real time encoding" when I do a custom setting. When I try it with and w/o the max in compressor i get roughly the same time on export & same as in FCP 7.
What am I doing wrong. I basically need the video to be 720x480 (16x9) de-interlaced with a data rate of 5000 kbit/sec.

I do not have this system you speak of, but looking at your settings, variable bit rate encoding is always much slower because it analyzes your video at least once before encoding.

Try setting it to constant bit rate and see if that helps you out at all.

(And btw, even if you need VBR, setting your minimum and maximum bitrates to the same thing won't get you anywhere. ;))
