I think my superdrive has died. I upgraded it to region free DAM5 months ago and it worked well after this (so it's not related).
Yesterday I put in a DVD disc (any disc) and it tries to read it three times, then spits the disc out, whether it is pre-recorded or not.
I think it has died. What is the best and most reliable disc drive, possibly dual layer - if I'm going to buy a drive, might as well be the RollsRoyce. Do you recommend getting my Apple Service Centre to do this, or should I attempt it myself (having no previous experience). Oh, I also want to be able to use this product region free. I'm in Australia, Newcastle.
I have a G4 PowerPC 1.5GH, 2GB DDR SDRAM.
Thanks
