Matshita UJ-85J firmware update (Not region free update)

Does a firmware update exist for the Matshita UJ-85J that I have in my MacBook Pro 17" ? I am on rev FAV1 at the moment. I tried to burn some DVD +R DL discs that it says it should burn, but they do not.
I don't care about the region free update, I am looking more for speed and compatibility updates.
