So ya i know they sell these
which is why people say go w/ glossy
and then get a screen cover if you don't like it...
but how well do these actually work?

Anyone have some before and after pictures?

if not....

some stories?
 
On your MacBook/MacBook Pro, actually the LCD itself is matte, and if you make it glossy, you put an extra layer of glass/whatever it is on top. But can you really reverse it like this? I've heard of glossy covers, but never of matte covers.
 
Most notebook screen protectors look REALLY tacky. I would avoid one and looking at the Matte and Glossy at the store.

I'm pretty sure you've got that exactly backwards. Making a screen matte is what requires a specially made surface to scatter the reflected light in a manner specifically designed to create no sharp reflections.

Of course the other possibility is to remove the reflective properties in the panel, but that can't be done with a protector.
