Hi guys,

I have been reading you for ages, since I throw away my fracking laptop with Windows XP on it and bought a real computer with a fancy and robust operating system... Yeah a mac book pro ;)

Recently I bought the Western Digital Black2 with 128GB of SSD and 1TB of high speed HD. I knew it was called a Windows Only drive! but shame on them, I initiate the 1TB partition using Windows and now I'm ready to install Mavericks on the 128GB and use the 1TB for user's folders.

I'm not quite sure how I should setup the installation to use my primary disk to install the OS dependent files, Applications folder and such and tell the OS where to initiate the Users folder (on my secondary drive)

My first idea is to install Mavericks normally on the drive, then get it out, plug it with my previous installation (the 720GB build in drive) and use symbolic link to move away some folders to the secondary drive.

So far I only see the need of moving away /Users folder since the other seems crucial for the functionality. Library can easily become big, but I guess I better keep it on the SSD for speeding up things.

I hope the 128GB won't get full too fast, wanna keep a good caching on it. Maybe I will also create a symbolic link inside /Applications for games and other not-so-important-to-load-fast applications.

My need tho!
Is there any better way to achieve this? Do I really have to hack the system with symbolic link that refers to the secondary drive? I found that kinda... hacked :)

Let me know please.
Or if you have a link, I will be happy to read about it

Thanks!
Cheers
