Mavericks 10.9.3 make imac running slow

hello , i have an imac with processor 3.06 Ghz Intel Core i3 , with 4 Gb 1333 MHz DDR3 , i recently updated my os X into 10.9.3 but it started to run slow after about one week , I checked the empty space on my Hard Disc and i have around 20 Gb free space (this was not an issue with the elder version) and i dont know what to do... HELP ! any suggestions (aparta getting a new imac! )

Clear all the Internet cache and also open System Preferences->Flash Player and delete its cache too.

please dont laugh .. but how do i erase the internet cache .. i m pretty sure i didnt understand the term 'cache' .. -> stupid <-

Long story short, 20GB of free space is too little.

Clear up your space and move unnecessary items elsewhere.

Better still, only backup what you need and perform a clean install.

That's just nuts. 20 GB of free space is fine for anything the system needs to do to run. Web browsers don't need that much either, certainly not being wasted on a cache. Caches should be cleared regularly anyway, since we don't need the whole damn internet on our computers.

If it was 20 MB, then i'd agree.
