I am a long time reader here and find lots of useful posts on MacRumors!
This is however my first post.
I have a little question that I hope someone could answer for me. I have been delaying my upgrade to Mavericks 10.9 from my current 10.6.8.
The reason is because I regularly use MacPorts and Kile. These function well on 10.6.8. I heard that if I upgrade that they likely will stop functioning properly.
Is this true? If so, then why? If it is not true then I will upgrade immediately.
Edit* I should add that I know about this: http://trac.macports.org/wiki/MavericksProblems
However, I want to know if I upgrade the OS with ports already installed, whether it will stop functioning or not.
