Mavericks and photoshop elements?

Hello, I am new to Apple, my delightful Hubby has bought me a MacBook Pro for my birthday!!! WOW, how come I didn't change from windows (sorry for swearing) long ago?!!!

I have a question and I apologise if this has already been dealt with but couldn't find any info. Will Photoshop Elements work on mavericks 10.9.4 with retina display. I am certain that I read somewhere that PE would/does pixelate due to the high resolution of retina screen. I don't want to purchase, only to find I cannot use it. I have and i5 processor and 8Gb memory, so should be no trouble there.

Wow, that was quick, thank you very much dzejms. I didn't realise I could download a trial I have always gone out and bought the disc. Mind you, with no disc drive now I shall have to change my ways.
