Mavericks desktop flickers between wallpaper and green background

Saw this this morning when I started up my Macbook pro Mid-2012.
Desktop would flicker between wallpaper and this GREY screen

Should I be concerned?

I have this same problem in a bootable USB drive with Mavericks installed. Were you able to resolve it?
