Mavericks DP 8 Update Question

Hello MR,

I am looking to update Lion to Mavericks. My question is do I need to begin from DP 1 and keep updating or can I just upgrade with the newest release (DP 8)?

I am not looking to do a clean install although I am sure it is recommended. Your help is appreciated in advance.
