Mavericks/FCPX Hell

Hey all, I'll take any help I can get here.

1 month before Mavs came out, my computer was having kernel panics while using FCPX. Took it to repairs, they said everything was fine, reinstall FCP and Lion.

I decided to wait it out hoping Mavericks would solve all of this. Only made things worse it seems. :( I can't work a half hour into Final Cut without the program crashing, shutting down, then getting a grey screen that says "There's been a problem. The computer is restarting." I've also had my computer log me out to the log-in screen while using FCPX. Weird...

Is it buggy Mavericks? Should I reinstall the software and FCP? Let me note that I'm working off an external drive that is powered off my USB port.

I had trouble with FCPX and other video/audio software. Premiere CS6 wouldn't quit without force quitting, even fully updated. Also, many issues with qtserver (not responding).

You can help FCPX with disabling App Nap (cmd-i on FCPX app-Disable App nap).

I wouldn't recommend using 10.9 right now on production machines. Or, install it on separate drive/partition and test everything you need beforehand.
