Hello,

As I can see the GM is not available from Software Update, so to get it I must download it from the Mac Dev Centrer and I install it as normal?

thank you!

For those participating in the beta program, is it like the iOS beta with an expiration date? I think Microsoft does this with the windows beta as well, but does Mavericks contain any sort of expiration date?

The only Mac OS X beta I had a problem with as far as expiration date is concerned, is Kodiak Public Beta (US Version). This can be circumvented by faking the date of the computer. Others I have tried have not been a problem (although I have not used all of them, so I don't know if Kodiak is the only one).

If you upgrade to GM, it's exactly the same build that are being put on new Macs and pushed to the App Store. So it won't expire (and I don't think that the DP's did that either).

GM is the same as the public release. For anyone who was wondering.

On that note, download started and now I wait. ;)

...while I work lol.

I've never encountered anything about an expiration date when it comes to Mavericks beta versions. Like another member said I know that some versions have had it in the past..

You have to get a redemption code and then download it from the Mac AppStore..

The mac app store image is about 5GB, there will be no problem updating from dp8?! Or I must do a clean install?!

I experienced a BIG caveat. GM is a full install and would not install on my Mac Pro's RAID 0. Became an endless loop in the install screen with Command R not working. Had to remove the RAID 0 and install a single HD and TM restore before I could install.

thank you!;)

I did get an update failed when going from DP 3 to DP 4 in the app store though :/ Had to hold option and do an internet restore back to ML. Sucks. I updated directly from ML to MV thanks to the help of a very "generous" person on the internet. So maybe you should go to stock and then update from there.

For exemple: when I press the power button to turn off the macbook, the screen becomes black, when I go to the launchpad swiping is flowing...

Yes in Mavericks the power button now sleeps your Mac. To get the turn off option, hold down the power button.

Launchpad and show desktop gestures are different too, they respond more to you fingers. When you pause the gesture the animation pauses too.

This occurs with my Mac Mini on Mountain Lion (and prior versions). I hit the power button, the mac goes to sleep. I don't think this a brand new feature.

It's not a new feature, but I'm not sure (It's been a long time), which OS came with it first...
